Edward A. Piasta
Edward A. Piasta has a nationwide trial practice. He represents victims of serious physical injury, wrongful death, trucking and commercial motor vehicle accidents, serious financial injury, insurance bad faith, excessive force, and elder abuse. Ed has helped obtain over $70 million for his clients against the world’s largest corporations, trucking companies, and insurance companies.
Selected for "Super Lawyers Rising Stars," a list recognizing no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in Georgia, and as a "Top 40 Under 40" trial lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers, Ed is recognized for excellence in the practice of law across the country and the state of Georgia.
Ed started his legal career in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps, where he served as a trial attorney and an operational law attorney. During his combat deployment to Iraq for “the Surge,” Ed earned the Bronze Star Medal, an honor received by two other of Ed's siblings who served in war. Later, as a Lieutenant Colonel, Ed returned to Iraq to support Operation Inherent Resolve, where he served as general counsel for the 201st Regional Support Group. He currently serves in the Georgia Army National Guard as general counsel for Georgia's Homeland Response Force.
Ed is married to Kristie Edenfield Piasta. The couple met when Ed was stationed in Savannah, Georgia. They have two children, William Avant and Joseph Edenfield. The family resides in Atlanta. Kristie is also an attorney practicing at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Their philanthropy activities include Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, University of Georgia, Cristo Rey Jesuit Atlanta High School, and Holy Spirit Church in Atlanta.
