Chris is a skilled trial attorney with a nationwide litigation practice that is committed to fighting for plaintiffs and families harmed by the negligence of others. In the past five years alone, he has helped his clients across the country recover more than $70 Million, including two $11 Million wrongful death settlements related to shooting incidents, a $10 Million policy-limits settlement in an apartment fire case, and other confidential 8-figure and 7-figure multi-million-dollar settlements. Chris has been able to achieve these results because of his proven track record of success in trial, where he and his partners have obtained numerous victories in difficult cases, including the largest premises liability jury verdict in the state of Georgia for 2018 ($11.25 Million), the largest jury verdict in the history of Dooly County, Georgia ($3.75 Million), and multiple other seven-figure jury verdicts where the defendants denied they were at fault.
Chris understands how defense lawyers and the insurance industry work because he used to be an insurance defense lawyer himself. After graduating from the University of Georgia School of Law, he began his legal career at a premier defense firm in Atlanta, where he represented local and national businesses on behalf of some of the world’s largest insurance companies. Knowing that his heart and skill set were better suited for representing victims, rather than insurers, Chris left the defense practice and met his law partners Ed and Mike when he joined them at a nationally renowned plaintiffs’ trial firm specializing in serious personal injury and wrongful death cases. Chris, Mike, and Ed combined their talents and zealous advocacy to form Piasta Newbern Walker, LLC in 2017. The rest, as they say, is history.
At Piasta Newbern Walker, Chris focuses his practice on representing plaintiffs in catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases of all types, including:
